Company Description
Family owned and operated,
Hires Automotive operates 4 stores...3 in Fort Wayne and 1 in New Haven.
We perform most all repairs and manufacturer's scheduled maintenance
from oil changes to engine changes while selling name
brand auto parts and accessories.
Company Background
Hires Automotive Center was started by Aubrey "Doc" Hire when he sold
the family piano to pay for the first month's rent for a building on
Broadway in 1927. That was the First Hires Store. Richard, his son,
then took over the business with his brother and sister, and together
they grew the business to what it is today.
Richard's sons Tom and Charley run the business now, along with a
dedicated group of over 90 employees.
Hires in the Community
Hires cares about the environment, community, and the people who live here.
Being a locally owned business, the Hire family stays active in the
local community by providing scholarships to area trade schools and
contributing to many local high schools, churches, and non-profit
organizations. We collect over 20,000 gallons of used
motor oil for recycling every year from residents.
